6th Grade Homeschool Curriculum Choices
Check out the homeschool curriculum my sixth grader will be using this year.
Bible
Last year I really enjoyed using the the Studying the Bible curriculum from Foundation Worldview with my two youngest children. This year I’ll be using their Comparative Worldview curriculum with my 6th and 4th grader. I’m excited to try out another video-based Bible course from Foundation Worldview!
I will also be taking all of my kids (still at home) through a study of Proverbs and church history. We will be using the Proverbs Study Guide from Generations to guide us through our study of Proverbs and Church History by Simonetta Carr for our study of church history.
English
My 6th grader will be finishing up Structure and Style for Students Year 1 Level A, that he started last year, and he’ll move on to Year 2 Level A. He will continue using the Fix It! Grammar series from IEW. This year he’ll be doing Town Mouse and Country Mouse. Fix It! Grammar is a quick yet effective and enjoyable way to learn grammar! For reading and spelling, he will continue working through the different levels of All About Reading and All About Spelling from All About Learning Press.
- Fix It! Grammar: Town Mouse and Country Mouse
- Structure and Style for Students
- All About Reading
- All About Spelling
Did you know that you can try IEW’s curriculum for FREE for 3 weeks to see if it’s a good fit for your family? Grab your free grammar and writing lessons here.
Math
My son has done so well with BJU Press math using their online video courses for math instruction. I’m excited to have him do another year of math with BJU Press through the Homeschool Hub.
Science
Generations has become a new favorite for my family! My son is looking forward to working independently through Generations’ God Made Animals science curriculum. I did a full review on my YouTube channel if you want to know more about this biblical worldview science curriculum.
History
I gave my son a few options for history this year and he decided to go with BJU Press Heritage Studies 6 that covers ancient history. He enjoys the video lesson instruction and was excited to learn more about ancient history. We love BJU Press Heritage Studies curriculum!

How fun that we both have a 4th and 6th grader! BJU Press and Master Books are both great choices! I am using Master Books biology with my two high school students. Hope you have a wonderful homeschool year.
