Hi Janelle,
I would like to know if any of your kids has taken this course? Do you know if it’s appropriate for young believers? Do you know if the movies they study or recommend are appropriate for young people?
Thanks in advance,
Hi Katherine! I’m assuming you are referring to the Film School 4 Teens course. If not, please let me know which course you were asking about so I can reply accordingly.
My daughter took the Intro to Filmmaking course when it first came out. I did a review of it that you can find here: https://www.janelleknutson.com/2020/03/05/film-school-4-teens/ I’m not sure if the course has been changed or updated since then but the one my daughter took did have some movies that we were not comfortable with her watching. Thankfully, they had an option to switch out movies for a movie of your choice which is what we did. Film School 4 Teens does lean a bit more secular even though the creators are Chrisitians. Another option to consider is Compass Classroom’s course called Filmmaking from the First Directors. Here’s a link to that if you want to check it out: https://tinyurl.com/ye2yzy4d
I hope that helps!
